The best ride of our lives. Well, at least the first 80k. And finally some real gravel sections to test our Canyon Grails. We started the day in another unreal and beautiful place in the coffee capitol of Colombia. The way out of our hotel was a downhill gravel section (what unfortunately only a handful of people will experience when they stay in this place at TdF4) that was insane and steep. But then right away we hit the best road ever.

80k through endless coffee fields, the colombian jungle and colourful villages. We all agree that it is rare that you think of a country and imagine the place and then we you there you are never disappointed. On the contrary: its always better than what you imagined.

Colombia is so green. The little signs and details of all the houses are build with love to the finest details. The people are always friendly. They love love love cyclists. It’s always safe. You always feel welcome and home. There are absolutely no tourists on all stages so far. It is a dream for cyclists. We hope so much that we can do this with you in March of 2020.

BTW: on the TdF4 there will be a rest day before this stage. We just don’t wanna rush through this country. And trust us: you need the recovery from Letras. Unfortunately the next 30k are on a highway. Traffic is not so bad but still there are cars and the climb is brutal. 20k uphill again. The descent though is amazing.

Once in Salento you’re back in the jungle. The finish will be amazing on the main square of this beautiful little village. Everyone in our group couldn’t be happier to be a part of this tour. When you hopefully do this one day I know you will feel the same way and you WILL fall in love with Colombia, too.
