Thank you to all riders, spectators and especially to all people from "Rund um Köln" for having us in their official program. Thanks so much to our friends from Sore Bikes in Cologne for hosting our After Show Party!

This is how everything went down...
We started in time with the OPEN CRIT at 8pm on a wonderful and dry saturday night. Around 60 riders were supposed to ride 20 laps to not only look for the fastest rider but also not to get caught by the motobike. Whoever got overlapped by the moto was taken out of the race. After one neutralized lap the whole race was pretty much open and smooth apart from a few attacks by Team Standert. It seriously began when we rang the bell for the 10th lap prime (fastest 10th lap) sponsored with 50€ cash by Iriedaily.
Maxime Haot // O2 Team Liége who also won in 2015 was speeding up and took the cash with him. Away with him went for a breakaway Ben Schnabel // CANYON RAD PACK and Christian Rose // merkur-druck.de. They soon got caught by the chase group and from then on the race got faster and faster until a sprint finish that Maxime Haot won right before Bene Herzberg and Christian Rose. The women's race had only 2 contenders. Jane Drage won the race with a strong performance. We gotta make sure to get more women for the Open Category!!
The FIXED CRIT had more than 150 riders from all over Europe. Oliver Leroy was by far the absolute favourite to win the 1st event of the RAD RACE SERIES since he proved to be super strong this season with a 6th place at the RED HOOK CRIT in Brooklyn. And here's the spoiler. HE CAME. HE RACED. HE WON. Serioulsy, this guy is amazing and he will be dominating the fixed gear scene with his agressive but superfair riding skills. We hope to see him again this season at some of our other events!!
Pretty much the whole race he was chased by 3 brave contenders. Max Höflich // Fixedpott, Bram Linnartz // Team WIT and Eike Haumann // Team Standert. They would have never caught Oliver Leroy but they managed to breakaway from the whole peloton and raced all together. Just the 3 of them. Until only in the third to last lap they crashed so the chase group got them again. With some strong legs Alex Müller // Maloja Push Bikes and Stefan "Fish" Vis // 369 x Bombtrack Bicycle Company took 2nd and 3rd place.
The 10th lap prime was taken by Owen Blandy // East London Fixed
Check out his onboard footage above!! Well done mate!
The women's race was dominated by Germany's best fixed gear women: Johanna Jahnke // Why Be Normal? from Hamburg and Marion Dziwnik // Team Standert from Berlin. They raced alone and were just fighting so hard (but fair) against each other. Only a few weeks back Marion won the "Waterkant Krit" before Johanna. This time Johanna took the win and she's now also leading the RAD RACE SERIES.
Thank you so much to all riders for taking part in the first RAD RACE SERIES event of the season. Next week we're hosting the RAD RACE FIXED42 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Berlin.
STOP RACISM - START RACEISM.
