RAD RACE „Tour D’Italia“ // Stage 6
Tonadico – Pescul
67,4km // 2.254 meters of altitude
Some might call it a mountain stage, we call it a rest day. We looked forward to this day. And not. Only 66k was in the books for today and we surely needed some time to recover. Some of us are in the saddle for 8 days in a row with way more than 1000k and that truly kicked some of us real hard... So in the morning we decided that everybody can ride his own speed until Pescul. More than 2.000 meters of altitude.... Therefore we all enjoyed the epic scenery in our camp and thensplit up in several groups. Some guys enjoyed the view on top of the last mountain so long that they could see how the dark coulds wandered up the mountain. Too bad these guys had to descend in the thunderstorm and strong rain. Fortunately we all rode safe and nobody crashed on the last technical and fast descend.
This stage wasn’t just the first day with rain, but also the first night we slept in a Refugio on top of the mountain. Mama Miracoli cooked us our own (!) supplies that we brought so we kinda had the same pasta that we eat every night when Chris prepares our awesome camp food. Mama Miracoli also put on a wood oven to dry our jerseys and bibs. Oh well, we surely enjoyed our first night in a real bed for 8 days or so...
Gerri and Severin already started with the first couple of interviews for our documentary and we can tell you: this is going to be the best of our films ever! They have THE most epic equipment and they will definitely deliver and amazing film.
To be continued...
