This year some of us want to race license road races. But not just road races in Germany. We thought about stages races abroad. This weekend in Denmark we are trying this the first time.
Unfortunately just six of us race together in C class. Jan has to start alone in B class und Max has to start alone in A class.
However, the six of us had big plans to make the race difficult for other riders.
From the beginning we get in each break away to set some pressure on all the other riders. Ben made it to a group of five riders, who got a big gap in the beginning. But nobody really accepted this gap and everything get back together.
Suddenly Dominic Karrasch and John Göhner get in a break and no rider followed until the final climb of the lap. Mathias Nielsen and Jonas Fischer followed the two leading guys. On top of the mountain the leading group was six riders big. John Göhner, Jonas Fischer, Ben Schnabel, Dominic Karrasch, Mathias Nielsen and Oskar Hvid. All riders pushed really hard to get the gap of the break away bigger. It worked with still 45km to go. Ben Schnabel, the best RAD PACK climber in this group attacked with Mathias Nielsen. So the final climb was the place for the final decision.
Super confident, Ben attacked again, dropped Mathias and kept the gap of ten seconds until the finish line.
John was fighting hard and crossed the finish line on an awesome third place. - He always pretends to be a spinter.
Tomorrow will be a super flat stage. Let’s see if we can keep the yellow jersey.
